Christian Vieler is a professional dog photographer in Germany, famous for his shots of dogs catching dog treats. If you were going to leave it at that sentence, it doesn’t sound like much. But thanks to his skills with an ultra high-speed camera, he captures a side of dogs we rarely see: the split second before they nab (or miss) an exciting morsel. Their faces are full of joy, wonder, excitement, regret, heartbreak, and elation. Who knew they were going through all that every time you tossed them a nibble?
