Ahh the “Cone of Shame.” Is any accessory more friend and foe for a dog? Yes, it’s a great thing that helps you avoid scratching and biting when you don’t have the self-control to stop yourself. But, the other hand, it’s kind of embarrassing to wear.
Although, it doesn’t have to be right? Any accessory is a chance to make a fashion statement. Or at least that’s what photographer Winnie Au and prop designer Marie-Yan Morvan figured when they teamed up to produce this fun series, suitably titled, “Cone of Shame”.
Each dog sits in front of a colourful backdrop with a familiar mix of pride, embarrassment, and impending mischief on their faces.
Obviously these cones are for photo-ops only. They’re a bit too bulky and beautiful to wear to the dog park. But hey, who doesn’t like getting a bit dressed up sometimes?
Not usually a dog photographer, Winnie’s powerful abstract photographs are designed to capture the attention and raise funds for animal rescue charities.
